Getting Your Story Out There

If you are an athlete, sports organization, or sports-adjacent non-profit looking to amplify your story, promote an event, or help drive fundraising, here’s what working together looks like.

Working Together

  • Crafting and distributing media pitches that connect your philanthropic story or event with the right outlets. This means building and maintaining relationships with reporters, finding the angle that will make your story land, and knowing when to push and when to go in a different direction.

    Includes:

    •       Media outreach strategy and pitch writing

    •       Press release and media alert writing and distribution

    •       Spokesperson and executive media training

    •       Media relationship development and warm introductions

  • Writing op-eds, Q&As, and long-form content in your voice. I spend time understanding how you think, the themes you come back to, and the way you talk about the work that means the most to you. The result is content that sounds like you because it genuinely reflects how you see the world.

    Includes:

    •       Op-eds and thought leadership pieces

    •       Q&As and interview preparation documents

    •       Foundation and nonprofit communications content

    •       Donor-facing communications

    •       Social media content in your voice

  • Developing the core messaging frameworks that help you communicate your philanthropic mission clearly and consistently to both internal and external audiences. Talking points, interview prep documents, and audience-specific content so everyone on your team is working from the same page.

    Includes:

    •       Organizational messaging and talking points

    •       Interview prep and Q&A documents

    •       Audience-specific content frameworks

    •       Crisis communications preparation

  • Strategic counsel on how to approach a media opportunity, frame a narrative, or change direction when appropriate. We work together to analyze opportunities, review media campaigns, and develop storylines.

    Includes:

    •       Communications strategy and planning

    •       Media opportunity assessment

    •       Narrative development and positioning

    •       Campaign and pitch review

How I Work

I work on a project basis and on retainer, depending on what makes sense for your goals. No long-term contracts are required. If you are not sure which type of support fits your situation, I’m happy to discuss that with you.
